Local Attractions

Downtown Norfolk, the Waterside area, and a long stretch of Granby Street are very walkable city areas that are close to the conference hotel and boast a number of local restaurants and nightlife. Not far from the hotel (or university campus) are other areas of Norfolk such as the Neon District, the Zoo and Botanical Gardens, as well as a long stretch of restaurants in the Ghent neighborhood (Colley Ave and 21st Street). Entertainment in Virginia Beach is close by car, about 20 minutes from downtown Norfolk to Virginia Beach Town Center and about 30 minutes to the beach.

Visit Norfolk provides everything you need to know about staying in Norfolk (including how the locals pronounce “Norfolk“, and information on transportation options can be found here including FRED (free ride every day) routes in the downtown area. The downtown Norfolk restaurant dining guide can be found here and restaurants that will accept your conference badge for discount on meals can be found here.
