Submission: Practical Guidelines

All presentations must contain original and scientifically valid information. Reports on completed research are clearly favored over descriptions of planned research. Commercial promotion and funding requests are not appropriate.

Presenters must comply with the Presenter Agreement Form and the Faculty Disclosure Form (required for CME Approval) downloadable in PDF format here.

We normally publish each submitted abstract in the conference syllabus. If you request, we can omit your abstract and/or contact information from the conference syllabus. Please see the abstract submission page for the relevant form. Please note that the publication agreement does not refer to the "Proceedings" volume published by CyberPsychology and Behavior.

Abstracts will be submitted electronically using this Website. Submission will be possible early December on this Webpage. In the meanwhile, here is the information that will be required.

Format:

Prepare abstract with the following information:

  • Title of presentation in upper and lower case letters

  • Presenter(s) name: first name, last name, degree(s), and ONE affiliation including city, state, and country

  • E-mail, telephone, and fax information, including national or international codes

  • Additional authors names and affiliations, if any

  • Abstract of no more than 500-words, double-spaced with one-inch margins on all four sides

Structure:

  • Research Status: Please clearly state the status of your research. Examples: Planned, In Progress, Completed, Preliminary Clinical Trials, Clinical Use, FDA-Approved, etc.

  • Required structure: Background/Problem, Method/Tools, Results, Conclusion. Please limit the TOTAL text of the combined Background, Methods and Tools, Results, Conclusions, and Novelty sections to 500 words or less. (Title, author listing, and references do not count toward this maximum.)

  • Novelty/Discussion: Please explain what makes this research different from prior work by yourself or by others. Please focus on the most unique aspect of your research, instead of broad implications. Please be brief, as this section counts toward the 500 word maximum.

  • References: Optional but appreciated. Please use a standard bibliographic format.

  • Tables and photos should not be included in the abstract submission

  • Acceptable formats are Word 97, Word 2000, or Word XP format

  • The conference is in English and all abstracts will need to be in English.

  • Please check spelling and grammar as your abstract will be printed in the conference syllabus.

  • Note that the size of the poster boards will be 4 feet high by 8 feet wide (120 cm x 240 cm).

Submission Requirements:

The following material will be needed to submit :

An initial presentation schedule will be sent to presenters in late March 2006 and revised as necessary thereafter. We ask presenters to notify us promptly if the scheduled presentation time conflicts with travel plans, etc. We try to accommodate the schedule needs of all our presenters; please understand that perfect resolutions aren't always possible, however, with so many people presenting.

For a symposium, the Symposium Chair will be in charge of electronically submitting all the abstracts for the symposiums, and should therefore make sure that he/she gets all the requested information from his presenters before completing the form.
